After dinner we just sat around waiting for the sunset debating when we will be anchoring …
Sunrise
was pretty spectacular
And
later on the full moon in the sky was pretty impressive
Despite
the fact that it is a full moon we weren’t optimistic that it would be around
when we drop anchor early Wednesday morning around 2am. There is a lot of cloud around that may just
block the moons light that would make it possible to photograph the outline of
Pitcairn Island when we arrive.
That
night we killed time by playing a card game called ‘skip bo’. Bedtime was around 10pm and the next time I
woke it was just after 2am when I heard Dad excitedly telling Mum that we were
here, then Neil popped his head in as he had just gone to the toilet and
realised that the engines were off (which means we were anchored) so he ducked
upstairs and said the night sky is all cloudy but you can make out the outline
of island. So I got up and we took Mum
up to the third level and we saw Brenda dancing about excitedly! I took this photo in the hope it would pick up the outline of Pitcairn Island in the back ground
Unfortunately
it didn’t!
Went
back to bed but I was wide awake and didn’t drift off so up at 6am for Brekky.
