Warragul to Korumburra

Warragul to Korumburra = 43km
Cummulative total - 176km

Crikey it was a tough day today, although we did know that it was going to be hilly as we had to climb over the Strzelecki Ranges.  As you can see from the profile above the bulk of the day was either going up or down.  There is a climb out of Warragul as it is situated in a valley and that is probably the steepest part of the climbs for the day.  Basically you seem to be following the sides of hills so you climb gently and then go down gently and no loose to much height but there is alot more climbing than ascending for the first 20km.

This is Neil coming up one of the gentle climbs - I took this photo looking down the hill - now compare it to the photo below ...

this is the same incline but Neil is taking a photo of me from the base of the climb - so you can see that the climbs are not steep - just ongoing!

This is just your typical view all day - it is definitely beautiful country through here - a bit like the northisland of NZ - rolling hills.  The 2 scenery shot above are taken with 2 different cameras - I forgot to decrease the back light in my photos when I edited them!  Although the day was rather cloudy so it was pretty grey everywhere.  At around 22km you come across a small place called Strzelecki so we stopped for a cuppa and a swiss roll lamington which I have to admit had been on my mind all morning!

There are quite a few handy bus shelters dotted along this road so they come in handy for breaks.  The traffic is very courteous to us today and the milk tankers were friendly - the road is good but winding so that is why the traffic doesn't go very fast - too many corners for them!
From here you sort of go up a little bit more then down then up then down and along with a few bumps then a few kms from Korumburra you have a down hill which is like the hill you climbed out of Warragul!  Unfortunately the town is on a slight hill so you have to climb through that and to make matters worse the campground is in a valley and there is a munter of a grunter of a hill to get out of here tomorrow!
The campground is nice and has excellent amenities, kitchen and rec room.  The BBQ is a little bizarre ...

this is the outside of the bbq and below is what is on the roof! ...

there are thousands of stuffed toys - what is the reason for this well there is no sign saying why -but it makes a nice photo!
There is a bush walk associated with this park so we shall have dinner and then take Kouta on a little nature walk.
Tomorrow we head for Foster via Leongatha where hopefully we will pick up a rail trail there.
